At the end of the F-117A production spare structures were assembled, and put in storage. Although there have been some attempts to re-open the F-117A production line, no proposal has survived long enough to begin retooling.

According to Skunk Works sources of www.f-117a.com, the actual production jigs for the F-117A began to be destroyed in Summer, 2001. Twenty years after the first F-117A flight, the prospect of further aircraft to be produced was eliminated forever.
